The college campus is spread over 17 acres having floor area over 40,000 sq. m., consisting of academic area, sports complex, amenities, hostels and staff quarters. KLECET is centre for Engineering Education and is an exciting, friendly and purposeful engineering college where the team of 183 qualified faculty is committed to ensuring success. The ambience in KLECET campus is vibrant with mentoring and counseling of the students being the ‘Mantra’ to develop the students into technocrats and administrators. The student induction program, faculty performance appraisal, counseling with parents, feedback from parents, interaction with industry, employers and alumni act as agents of transformation. In addition, the best teaching-learning practices such as ‘Collaborative learning’ at the institution enable the students to perform exceedingly well in academics.Further, the indoor and outdoor game facilities, gymnasium and other extra-curricular activities on campus help in overall development of students’ career. The students exhibit their talent through departmental associations in the departmental and in inter-departmental activities during two days National Fest “INFUZE”. In addition, the activities conducted through Student Chapters of professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) help the students to present their technical skills. The students also present their volunteering capability through NSS activities. The Kannada Balaga conducts cultural activities.The central library offers variety of services such as: Open Access System, Book Bank Facility, Digital Library, Inter-library loan of books, ON-LINE public access catalogue, Wi-fi reading room, CD-ROM data base access and Multimedia. It has over 23,000 titles and 83,000 volumes which are updated regularly. It subscribes to nearly 115 National Technical Journals and over 4000 international e-journalsThe training and placement cell trains the students from first year to final year to well equip them for their campus selection, which resulted into an average of 96% placements during the previous years. The campus placement during the last three academic 2011-12, 2010-11 and 2009-10 is respectively 98%, 95%, and 82%. The campus placement have been facilitated by the visit of few of industries viz. Mindtree, Accenture, TCS, Wipro, L&T, Bosch, HCL, Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers etc. The academic performance of the institution was 96%, 92%, and 96% in the year 2011-12, 2010-11 and 2009-10 respectively with 27 ranks to the University. The KLEian’s are doing exceedingly well in sports also. Seventeen students have been selected as VTU blues for the last three years.The institution has hostel facility for accommodating about 300 boys and 450 girls on campus. The facilities in the hostels include uninterrupted power supply, Wi-fi facility and separate gymnasium facilities. The students are facilitated with free medical service including indoor patient care through Vaidyashree health insurance scheme at KLE Society’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Research Center, a Super Speciality Hospital. Further, the banking facility with ATM, cafeteria with fast food centre, transportation through buses, round the clock security makes the KLECET campus homely. KLECET has been active member institute promoting entrepreneurship at graduate and postgraduate levels having tie up with Dr. Gururaj Deshpande foundation through various courses / participation like entrepreneurship academy (EA), innovation for social entrepreneurship course and LEAD program. The institute and students have been successively recognized and awarded by Dr. Gururaj Deshpande Foundation for the same.
