                          Dr. R. K. Shanmugam Educational Truest was promoted in the memory of the late Dr. R. K. Shanmugam in the year 1994.Being an Economist, an Educationalist and an Administrator, he served in various capabilities such as the Finance Minister of Independent India, the Vice - Chancellor of Annamalai University and the Diwan of Cochin.He founded the Tamil Isai Sangam for the development of Tamil Culture and Tamil Literature with the help of Raja Sir Annamalai Chettiar.The Truest has promoted a college under the name of Dr.R.K.Shanmugam College of Arts and Science to provide Higher Education for the deserving students, especially belonging to the rural and tribal area, in the year 1997.The College aims at training young men and women of quality, to be leaders in all walks of life, who we hope will play a vital role in bringing about desirable changes for the betterment of the people of our country.The college is managed by eminent persons with the co-operation of likeminded well wishers.The Vision of Dr.RKS.
