College Profile:
Vignan's Lara Institute of Technology & Science, was established with the aim of providing quality technical education on par with international standards at Vadlamudi, Guntur District in the year 2007. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, KAKINADA. The college is located in the green and transgenic and rural sylvan environs of Vadlamudi, on the Gunutr-Tenali highway, about 14kms from Guntur and 11kms from Tenali. The college is a virtual haven of rural quiet and idyllic beauty spread over a large area. The splendid avenue and sprawling playgrounds and the verdure in and around the campus make it one of the most preferred choices for the aspirants of Engineering studies. The college has 130 well qualified young and experienced staff of which seven are Ph.Ds and more than eighty five are M.Techs. It is supported by about sixty Technical Staff. We, in India today, are living in a transitional era. On one hand, we are swamped by the global financial melt down while on the other, we are witnessing a slow but sure revival of the manufacturing and agricultural sectors. It is evident that highly trained and skilled professionals will be needed in vast numbers to enable our country's transition towards industrial and financial self-sufficiency. In this changing scenario, technology will continue to be a major catalyst for enabling the country's transformation. So the demand for quality technical education in India is huge.In Andhra Pradesh, we often mention with pride that the state has the largest number of technical / professional institutions to impart skill based education to fulfill the needs of the industry. However the fact remains that, in spite of the large number of engineers churned out from over 1000 and odd colleges every year, there continues to be an unbridged gap between the needs of the Industry and the skill set that the engineering students possess. Thus we are faced with a paradoxical situation where employers keep scouting for employees and vice versa.
