The Gayathri Educational and Cultural Trust was founded by ‘Guru’ Sri Sivananda Murthy Garu in 1982 with the objective of imparting quality education to students.During 1990, the Trust established Lalitha Degree College at Nampally Station Road, Hyderabad with UG courses like B.A., B.Sc.and B.Com. Ever since, the GECT started the colleges of engineering, pharmacy, education, management, computer applications etc. The following institutions have been established during the last two decades.Dr. Reddy obtained his Ph. D. from the Department of Physics, O.U. He was awarded “Dr. Tamahanker Memorial Prize” in 1996 by the “Magnetic Society of India” for best research paper. He actively participated in Peoples Science Movement and served as Secretary, Jana Vignana Vedika, Hyderabad.He is one of the leading persons in the field of education and many Engineering, Pharmacy, Management and other colleges have been established under his leadership. He was elected as Founder General Secretary, Consortium of Private Engineering Colleges Managements Association of A.P. (CECMA). He is Member, Academic Senate, Osmania University.Significant restructuring of the Learning Systems is taking place in response to the developments in the business and industrial segments and a major emphasis is being laid to fine-tune the students’ skills and knowledge. The emphasis is on preparing them to succeed in the evolving new environment that offers challenging opportunities.
