The foundation for the first degree college in Bhayandar was laid in the metropolitan area of Mira - Bhayandar with the population of 8 lacs, there was a great need of a degree college. Considering this need Mr. Rohidas Shankar Patil an active corporator took an initiative and decided to start a degree college. Mr. Rohidas Patil who has gained fame in social, educational and political field was touched by when he noticed the inconvenience caused to the students in Mira - Bhayandar .To start with a four storeyed Building he had to undergo many critical situations . But this lion hearted man never took a step back and overcame all the problems and has formed beautiful premises of Shankar Narayan College of Arts & Commerce upto degree level . Late Mr . Shankar Narayan Patil, father of the founder Mr. Rohidas Patil has always been a great inspiration for him. Hence when the idea to form an educational organisation arose in his mind he named it in the memory of his late father as SHREE SHANKAR NARAYAN EDUCATION TRUSTThe Trust Started the Arts and Commerce College affiliated to University of Mumbai in the year 1994-95 with B.A. and B. Com. and the junior college from 1999-2000. Both have made steady progress since their inception and have succeeded in getting permanent affiliation from the University of Mumbai. College has awarded B++grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council, Banglore.
